MY SONGS
The world is full of beautiful places and beautiful people. It is full of little moments of pure joy, but also nights of suffering. My mission as a singer-songwriter is to write music, create videos and produce performances which authentically reflect that beauty and wonder, but also all the suffering I personally feel and see around me. I do this to process and accept my thoughts and feelings, hoping to inspire others to do the same!

Below you can see some of my latest songwriting endevours, including my debut EP released in August 2023 as well as some of my other songs which I am very proud of!

Ep: eMERGING SUN
In August 2023, I released my first ever EP: emerging sun! I am so happy for this EP to be finally out there! It has been in the works for the past two and a half years - with everything from the initial ideas, songwriting, countless edits and hours of recording, production, mixing and mastering, all culminating into this one release. This EP will include my favourite songs that I've written in the past few years, all professionally recorded and produced. At the moment, a lot of these songs, including the singles, exist online in demo form, so I can't wait to show you all their potential when properly finalised!

The EP, and by extension the future album, paints a moment in time, an image of a summer haze, a dream that you'd wish never had to end. Summer for me has always represented endings and beginings, an interim phase, a time of fun and relaxation and love... but also loneliness, limbo, longing. All coins have two sides and so does the EP, exploring themes of belonging, relief and love, but also of mental struggle and growth.

1. Sense in Disarray
I wrote the lyrics to this song in January 2021 about everything good that had just suddenly started happening in my life, after having felt a bit stagnant, lost and abandoned for a while. More specifically, 'Sense In Disarray' is about finding your tribe, a collection of people who make everything worth it.

2. The Brightest Times
Based off a book that meant a lot to me as a kid, 'All The Bright Places' by Jennifer Niven, this emotional song is about overcoming grief and how life is so much better, so much more worth it, when lived surrounded with people who love you and have got your back.

3. Sounds of Your Soul

A duet I wrote featuring Lachlan Beckett, 'Sounds Of Your Soul' creates a back and forth representing the temptations to lean into a toxic overbearing optimism as opposed to a lowly, isolating pesimism at any given moment. Using music as a metaphor, the song joyfully paints a bond between two opposing outlooks which somehow managing to unite.

Song
4431
A song about the time of my life when I was in a long distance relationship, I used a technique called 'the power of numbers' to highlight how visceral the longing and lonlieness I felt was - we were, in fact, exactly 4,431 miles away from each other. Well at least our home addresses were!
I hope that anyone who feels alone in any respect, for any reason at all can feel even a little uplifted by the song's hopeful conclusions: "4431 miles but my heart's still close to you" 💞
Song
dying light
In this little side project I decided to take lyrical inspiration from a poem that means a lot to me, Dylan Thomas' "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night".

Death has always been a topic of intrigue for people, whether it is for philosphers, religious practices or art. This poem takes an alternative outlook on death, one that refuses to succumb to the darkness peacefully as we are so often told we are supposed to. Rage, rage against the dying of the light!
Song
LOUD!
My original song 'LOUD!’ illustrates a metaphorical conflict between someone and their own self-doubt and insecurity, which often louder than positivity. Thus, a back and forth is created in the song whereas the verses symbolise the mind’s success in subduing and in contrast, the choruses come out of nowhere with high volume and energy! This is my live performance of the song, with plans to record and release it officially in the works!
